1. Thành ngữ và cụm từ
Dưới đây là một số thành ngữ và cụm từ hay có thể xuất hiện trong đề ôn thi Tiếng Anh THPT quốc gia 2023 bạn có tham khảo:
- Decked up – mặc quần áo đặc biệt để xuất hiện hấp dẫn.
- Doing the rounds – được truyền từ người này sang người khác.
- A damp squib – hoàn toàn thất bại.
- Put off – một câu trả lời lảng tránh, trì hoãn làm điều gì đó, đặc biệt là vì bạn không muốn làm điều đó.
- A dime a dozen – bất cứ điều gì phổ biến và dễ dàng để có được.
- Cast iron stomach– một người không có vấn đề, biến chứng hoặc ảnh hưởng xấu khi ăn bất cứ thứ gì.

2. Liên từ (Conjunctions)
Liên từ là gì?
Một từ hoặc một nhóm từ kết nối hai hoặc nhiều từ, mệnh đề, cụm từ hoặc câu được gọi là liên từ. Liên từ được gọi là từ nối.
Ví dụ:
- She excels at both dancing and cookery.
- He was not able to be punished in front of a judge.
- She didn’t bring any acquaintances or family to the party.
Các loại liên từ
- Liên từ kết hợp (Coordinating Conjunction Words)
Các từ kết hợp phối hợp chỉ có bảy và mọi người nhớ đến chúng bằng một từ viết tắt FANBOYS, tức là (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So).

- Liên từ phụ thuộc (Subordinating Conjunction Words)
Liên từ phụ thuộc nối mệnh đề trạng từ phụ thuộc với mệnh đề độc lập. Hiểu nó theo cách này, thay vì nối hai mệnh đề độc lập có tầm quan trọng như nhau, các từ kết hợp phụ thuộc làm cho một mệnh đề ít quan trọng hơn mệnh đề khác.
Ví dụ: I will drink juice after having this chocolate (I will drink juice là một mệnh đề độc lập; after having this chocolatelà một mệnh đề trạng từ phụ thuộc).
