Khái niệm So sánh kép
So sánh kép (Double comparison)là một dạng so sánh gồm có hai mệnh đề sử dụng khi muốn diễn tả về người hoặc vật nào để có sự thay đổi và ảnh hưởng tới người hoặc vật khác. Nó được hình thành bởi tính từ và trạng từ.
Lý thuyết và ví dụ So sánh kép
Ví dụ:The more Jin eats, the fatter she is.
(Jin càng ăn nhiều, cô ấy càng mập)
=> Trong câu này muốn diễn đạt về việc ăn của người được đề cập đến. Nguyên nhân “ ăn nhiều ” – tác dụng “ càng béo ”

The + comparative + S + V + the + comparative + S + V
Khi hai vật hay hai vấn đề biến hóa cùng Lever thì dùng hình thức so sánh hơn ở cả hai mệnh đề để diễn đạt điều này .
Ví dụ:The sooneryou take your medicine,the betteryou will feel
( Uống thuốc càng sớm, bạn sẽ càng cảm thấy tốt hơn )

The more + S + V + the + comparative + S + V
Khi đưa ra lời đề xuất / khuyên bảo cho những hành vi, nó cũng hoàn toàn có thể biến thành dạng mệnh lệnh .
Ví dụ:The moreyou study,the smarteryou will become
( Bạn càng học nhiều, bạn sẽ càng trở nên mưu trí hơn )

Short adj: S + V + adj + er + and + adj + er
Long adj: S + V + more and more + adj
Trong văn nói, so sánh kép đa phần được rút gọn và đặc biệt quan trọng nó được dùng để nói những lời rập khuôn .
Ví dụ:The weather gets colder and colder
( Thời tiết ngày càng lạnh hơn )
Khi cần miêu tả những ý nghĩ như “ càng …. càng … ” người ta dùng thể so sánh kép ( double comparative ). Thể so sánh kép được tạo thành tùy theo số lượng ý mà ta muốn diễn đạt .Nếu chỉ có 1 ý :
– Đối với tính từ ngắn: Adj/ advngắn-er + and + adj/advngắn-er
Ví dụ : It is getting hotter and hotter. ( Trời ngày càng nóng )
– Đối với tính từ dài: More and more + adj/advdài
Ví dụ : The storm became more and more violent. ( Cơn bão ngày càng kinh hoàng )* Nếu có 2 ý :
– Đối với tính từ ngắn: The + adj/ advngắn-er + S + V, The + adj/ advngắn-er + S + V
Ví dụ : The taller she gets, the thinner she is. ( Cô ấy càng cao, cô ấy càng gầy. )
– Đối với tính từ dài: The + more + adj/ advdài + S + V, The + more + adj/ advngắn + S + V
Ví dụ : The more beautiful she is, the more attractive she gets. ( Cô ấy càng xinh cô ấy càng lôi cuốn. )
*The more + S + V, the more + S + V
Ví dụ : The more I know her, the more I hate her. ( Tôi càng biết cô ấy, tôi càng thấy ghét cô ấy.)
